Pierre Hanekom is a West Jet Captain on the Q400, a Sim Instructor at WJ, flew the 737 pre-COVID-19 (So cool!) and a fellow COPA member from Melfort, SK! Growing up in Melfort, SK he starting flying at age 16 with his Dad Pierre Sr. Pierre learnt to fly at Mitchinson Flight Centre in Saskatoon and loves all things GA. Pierre started an epic career by flying for Transwest Air first officer  on the SAAB for 3 years, Captain on King Air 100,200,350, and Beech 1900 for 3 years. He then flew West Jet Encore Dash 8 for 3 months prior to being upgraded to Captain and eventually joined the training department, teaching simulator. Although Pierre loves to maintain flying proficiency in various GA aircraft, he loves flying with his Dad in his 172 RG.
