COPA Flight In Saskatchewan Provincial Aviation Career Scholarships!
Scholarship Overview
For the first time ever, COPA flights across Saskatchewan are creating various scholarships for students residing or training in Saskatchewan. Many local flight school, municipalities have matched our local COPA flight and donated to this scholarship! The 2 scholarships sections are open to pilots and non pilots residing in Saskatchewan OR completing training in Saskatchewan. Our goal is to recruit our new generation of aviation professionals and to assist those already working towards an aviation career!
How to Donate:
COPA Scholarships must be paid by CHEQUE, payable to the Saskatchewan Aviation Memorial Scholarship Fund, and mailed to:

How to Apply:
The Scholarship Committee will review all applications and the successful applicant will be notified. The Scholarship Committee looks forward to receiving your enquiries and applications (early applications accepted). Applications will not be considered if incomplete or documentation is not included. If you are concerned you have additional information to add, or to complete your application please contact your nearest Flight Captain or Flight School ASAP.
Scholarship Categories: There are 2 Scholarship Categories applicants can apply to:
1. Aviation Career Advancement Scholarship
Funding for application to assist continuing a career or training in an Aviation related field! Already started their training!
Examples for aviation related fields include: training for flight training, aircraft maintenance engineer, avionics, technician, aeronautical engineer, meteorology etc. The application does not have to have a pilots licence.
Tentative Scholarship Funds: $4,000
Scholarships will be divided into:
3 x $1,000 Scholarships
4 x $250 scholarships

November 1, 2022- midnight December 31, 2022.
Selection Timeline:
January 1, 2023 – January 31, 2023

Scholarship Funds to be used by:

Objective:
Help our local students out to complete training they otherwise could not so easily complete!
Some students have come so far, and yet are short the time or extra supplies that would make their training a little easier!
To include training/supplies for flight training, aircraft maintenance engineer, avionics, technician, aeronautical engineer, meteorology etc.
Training Required:
Must have already enrolled in a post secondary program, apprenticeship or training related to an aviation field. If you using the scholarship for flight training, the private pilot licence privileges MUST have already granted.
Applicants MUST have already begun their aviation training and demonstrate a financial need that will assist their training in/or towards an aviation related career.
To include training/supplies for flight training, aircraft maintenance engineer, avionics, technician, aeronautical engineer, meteorology etc.
Training/Supplies the Scholarship May be Used for:
IPC, FI renewal, Multi-Engine, IFR, Commercial, ATPL exam, Type Rating, Flight Instructor Rating, Aerial Applicator Course, Tail wheel (if bush flying career or aerial applicator training), Night Rating, IFR/ATPL written exam courses, advanced avionics training etc. if enrolled or graduated from training of the following: aircraft maintenance engineer, avionics, technician, aeronautical engineer, meteorology etc. The application does not have to have a pilots licence. Applicant MUST be working towards continuing their career in the aviation field, not to be used for recreational minded pilots.
Scholarship May be Used for:
- AME tools or gear
- Application Fees
- Aviation Exam Apps
- Aviation Training Books
- Headset or Helmet
- IFR/ATPL online Courses
- Student Flight Kit
- Transportation to aviation related school or exams.
- Tuition or online ground school
- Written Exams/Flight Test Fees
- TC Aviation Medical Exam
- Any thing else approved by the scholarship committee.
Age: Applicants must be between the ages of 18- 99 years of age.
2. New to Aviation Kickstart Scholarship!
Funding for the applicant to kick start their career in an aviation related field!
Discovery Flights, Entrance fees to Supplies permitted! Examples for aviation related field include training for flight training, aircraft maintenance engineer, avionics, technician, aeronautical engineer, meteorology etc. The applicant shall not have completed a licence, permit or rating with the exception of a gliders permit.
Tentative Scholarship Funds: $4,000
Scholarships will be divided into:
3 x $1,000 Scholarships
4 x $250 scholarships

Applications must have a thrill for aviation and are in the beginning stages of their training in an aviation related field.
Please note, the selection committee is striving to award students who have no prior experience as well, not just students who have started their PPL.
To include training for flight training, aircraft maintenance engineer, avionics, technician, aeronautical engineer, meteorology etc.
Training Required:
No prior experience needed. Applicants must not have already completed any licence or permit. Example: High School Students, Second Career etc.
Training/Supplies the Scholarship May be Used for:
PPL flight training, aircraft maintenance engineer, avionics, technician, aeronautical engineer, meteorology etc. The application does not have to have a pilots licence.
Scholarship May be Used for:
- AME tools or gear
- Application Fees
- Aviation Exam Apps
- Aviation Training Books
- Discovery Flight
- Flight Test/Written Exam Fees
- Flight Training – prior to the completion of a Recreational or Private Pilot Licence
- Headset
- Student Flight Kit
- Transportation to aviation related school or exams.
- Tuition or online ground school
- TC Aviation Medical Exam
- Any thing else approved by the scholarship committee.
Age:Applicants must be between the ages of 16- 99 years of age.
Residence:
All applicants MUST be a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident and RESIDE in SASKATCHEWAN, OR, be completing post secondary studies related to an aviation field IN Saskatchewan.
Please note this criteria is to encourage students to receive training in Saskatchewan, or if Saskatchewan is their home town, are in the middle of completing training out of the province…ie home town is in Saskatchewan but studying at Mount Royal University, Seneca college due to RCAF or AME training in Manitoba etc)
